Biography:

Consultant Craniofacial Surgeon

Jonathan Collier is a consultant Oral and Craniomaxillofacial surgeon in the Craniofacial Department of the Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. He is the principal orthognathic surgeon in the department and a core member of the specialist multidisciplinary group treating cancerous skin lesions. Jonathan is an Honorary Consultant at both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Barts Health NHS Trust where he is a regular member of the specialist clinic treating the long-term consequences of traumatic facial injury. Jonathan is on the invited faculty of a number of specialist courses, has a number of research interests and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is a surgeon with the medical charity Facing The World and lives in central London with his wife and four children.

Virtual Planning for Maxillofacial Surgery in the Post-Covid Era

Lecture Synopsis:

The lecture will be to look at the evolution of three-dimensional planning techniques in the investigation and treatment of maxillofacial conditions. Covering imaging modalities such as 3-D photography (including the humble iPhone), integration with radiological imaging as well as thermography and other techniques that have recently come to the fore during the Covid pandemic.  This will be integrated this with some of the evolving work streams for integrating home-derived health data, remote monitoring and patient-input for planning interventions.
